Get Your Furnace Repair in Boston, MA

There are other common reasons that we get called about furnace repair. Here are some of the main problems that can warrant our services:

  1. Discoloration to your pilot light. In most cases, your furnace’s pilot light should be blue if it’s healthy. A yellow light can indicate issues with the ventilation system or other components. This can be detrimental to your health and home if carbon monoxide isn’t being vented properly.
  2. Increased electric bill. If your furnace is losing efficiency due to age or wear, it can cost more to run. It could also be due to a lack of maintenance, but dust or failing parts can affect the output of your furnace. This can cost more to heat your home or business by making it heat slower or less effectively.
  3. Odd sounds coming from your furnace. It might not be dangerous but squealing parts in your furnace could mean that your motor needs work or the loose blower assembly is in need of repair. These problems can cause more expensive repairs or a furnace replacement.
  4. Worse air quality. If your furnace isn’t working correctly, it can leave all sorts of allergens and dust in your home’s air. It can also affect the humidity in the air, all of which can be harmful to your health or comfort.
  5. Short cycling. When your furnace cuts on and off more frequently, it can be a definite sign that your unit needs repaired. It doesn’t compete with the outside temperatures, which can raise your bills more. This could be from something as simple as a clogged air filter or complex as a cracked heat exchanger.

If you’re experiencing any of these issues, or it’s been a while since your last inspection, don’t hesitate to call us today for an estimate!

Furnace Tune Up Service

Gas Burner Tune Up Service:

Clean/clear flame tube, check and clear boiler flue section, and pipe, check and clear chimney base.

Check inlet and outlet gas pressure at the gas valve for proper pressure. Adjust or replace gas valve if need to, perform combustion analysis to make sure the equipment is safe to operate and all combustion reading fall within the recommended parameter. Record and print results with date, time, company information, and leave at a visible location at the equipment site.

There are no replaceable parts on gas boiler or furnace that require seasonal replacement except for the air filter in a furnace. Home owner should purchase and replace their own filter. We will also ask the homeowner for the filter at time of service and replace it as a courtesy. We will always replace the thermocouple lead on a gas burner with standing pilot because it is the first thing to fail during the heating season. All other parts are electronic and their time of failure cannot be determined. Therefore, there are no justification replacing part/s that cannot determine when they will fail.
